摘要: Early leaf removal is an innovative cultural practice for yield management in grapevines. The effects of timing (prebloom and fruit set) method (manual or mechanical) defoliation on components, Botrytis incidence, wine sensory attributes Vitis vinifera L. cv. Tempranillo VSP-trained grapevines were examined over two consecutive seasons, 2007 2008. Yield per vine was severely reduced (15 to 50%) by manual mechanical at prebloom the years smaller clusters with fewer berries obtained. At set, only effective modifying cluster weight, berry number, vine. rot incidence significantly early 2008, when overall higher infection rate linked unusually high rainfall. Total area generally unaffected removal. Prebloom exhibited full recovery leaf:fruit ratios compared nondefoliated vines, regardless method. Descriptive analysis aroma wines revealed lowered intensity fruity, floral, licorice defoliated samples 2007. Intensity scores these descriptors positively correlated negatively total area:yield ratio. When widespread, extent certain fruity floral aromas dried character. Several factors defoliation, such as yield, Botrytis, exposure contributed final properties. Principal component illustrated separation from treatments profile.
