Toward a typology of food security in developing countries.

摘要: The recent global food and financial crises have reversed the last decade's progress in reducing hunger poverty. This paper conducts a factor sequential typology analysis to identify groups of countries categorized according five measures security—consumption, production, imports, distribution, agricultural potential—by using indicators from 175 countries. first identifies distinct security groups, characterized by intake, then further splits these based on various trade security, potential. results suggest that general category “developing countries” is extremely heterogeneous not particularly useful if focus issues security. also indicate different responses are needed types food-insecure address crises.
