摘要: Abstract Arsenic (As) is a toxic element found in both natural and anthropogenic sources. High concentration of this was recently uncovered the groundwater Sumbawa Island, Indonesia. This contamination seems to be caused by operation gold mining island. To mitigate problem, As adsorption potential geological materials like lignite, bentonite, shale, iron sand obtained Indonesia were evaluated batch experiments. These selected because thei r low cost availability. The results showed that among these tested, lignite most effective adsorbent As(V) followed shale then sand, amounts As(III) adsorbed onto all adsorbents lower than those As(V).This indicates more mobile comparison As(V). isotherms conformed nonlinear types, either Langmuir or Freundlich. Solution pH also affected amount adsorbed.
