摘要: Controlled release formulations of clozapine microparticulated tablets were prepared by using chitosan. Microparticles characterized for particle size and distribution. compressed into the directly compressible excipients. SEM photographs fractured part tablet revealed presence discrete particles in tablets, suggesting that system chosen is ideal tableting. Drug from tableted microparticles exhibited an initial burst effect, but decreased with increasing extent cross-linking. Tablets coated chitosan or cellulose acetate, which significantly lowered effect when compared to uncoated tablets. chitosan-coated was slightly higher than acetate. effective delivering over a period 12 h.
