摘要: In the summer of 1921, with assistance a grant from Royal Society and Cambridge Worts Fund, I spent rather more than two months in Western Greenland. It was mainly through kind offices my friend Prof. Ostenfeld, Copenhagen, that necessary permission to visit Danish Colony obtained. Mr. R. E. Holttum, who is now Assistant Director Botanic Garden, Singapore, acted as Research Assistant, did his share hard work. We left Copenhagen on June 18 arrived at Godthaab midnight 28; Egedesminde, which we reached July 2, steamer crossed Disko Bay motor-boat Godhavn, Island. At Godhavn were received by Morten Porsild, Arctic Station. Two expeditions made Godhavn—the first along south-east coast Island far Ritenbenk’s coal mine; second, course travelled 500 miles, south-west Hare Island, Upernivik Nugssuak Peninsula, where several exposures Cretaceous strata examined.
