摘要: Background: We undertook an audit of paediatric perioperative incidents in the first 10000 anaesthetics administered KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital Singapore between May 1997 April 1999. The spectrum surgery performed ranged from simple ambulatory to open heart for complicated congenital diseases. Results: Two hundred ninety-seven were reported. majority them happened healthy patients (80.1% ASA I II) scheduled elective (73.3%). Respiratory events most (77.4%) with laryngospasm accounting 35.7%. Cardiovascular (10.8%) included hypotension haemorrhage sepsis, dysrhythmias. incidence equipment pharmacologically related problems low. Conclusions: Future reviews a larger population may be helpful determine trends whether quality assurance programs made difference.
