摘要: Extensive evidence indicates that acutely administered glucocorticoid hormones influence cognitive performance. Posttraining activation of glucocorticoid-sensitive pathways involving receptors dose-dependently enhance long-term memory consolidation. We previously reported such effects on consolidation rely noradrenergic the basolateral complex amygdala (BLA) and interactions BLA with other brain regions. By contrast, retrieval working performance are impaired high circulating levels glucocorticoids. Although these functions depend hippocampus medial prefrontal cortex, respectively, in recent experiments we found glucocorticoid-induced impairment two also requires integrity system. Thus, findings suggest is a key structure memory-modulatory system regulates, concert regions, stress different functions.
