摘要: Particulars are given of the isolation, characteristics and classification a catalase-negative, tetrad-forming streptococcus, which was obtained from ropy beer. The most distinctive feature this organism is its propensity to render beer extremely viscous, not only under anaerobic but also aerobic conditions, has persisted over period five years, during been cultivated in laboratory. In principal it differs so markedly those streptococci have described previously, indeed, other non-pathogenic concerning particulars published, that be regarded as new species. habit producing very viscous condition both bottled cask renders particularly virulent disease organism.
