Influence of sintering temperature on microstructures of Nb/Nb5Si3 in situ composites synthesized by spark plasma sintering

摘要: Abstract Taking the use of Nb and Si elemental powders as raw materials, Nb/Nb 5 3 composites were successfully fabricated by a spark plasma sintering (SPS) technology. The influence temperatures on microstructures synthesized was mainly investigated. results show that there exists critical temperature T c (1400 °C) in synthesis SPS When is lower than , an intermediate phase produced samples. Moreover, relative density samples lower. Only if higher c, thoroughly eliminated, particles become finer size desirable up to 99.59% theoretic are achieved.
