Distribution of a fungicide at the host-pathogen interface studied by X-ray microanalysis

摘要: Systemic fungicides, e.g. triazoles, must be absorbed by a pathogen in order to effective but, currently, neither amounts of fungicide host cells and fungal hyphae at their interface, nor absorption the vivo , can precisely determined. Using X-ray microanalysis (X-RMA) planed frozen hydrated material scanning electron microscope, elements were quantified ratioing against an Al standard. In wheat leaves infected brown rust ( Puccinia recondita ), only small Cl detected untreated cells, but following treatment with Cl-containing fungicide, diclobutrazol, increased found mesophyll and, lesser extent, intercellular hyphae. comparison, there was little, if any, accumulation mobile elements, K, P S. The results demonstrate that X-RMA provides new approach study distribution within tissues. It is immediately useful for such as containing tissue we suggest that, full quantitation, could extended other fungicides used measure uptake pathogens .
