摘要: ABSTRACT Excitatory amino acids and oxygen free radicals have been reported to cooperate in the genesis of brain injury vivo vitro. In this study, we tested capacity a noncompetitive N-methyl-d-aspartate receptor antagonist, MK-801, 21-aminosteroid, U-74006F, tirilazad mesylate, block opening blood–brain barrier after subarachnoid injection FeCl2, which is believed cause primarily "pure" radical insult. Subarachnoid FeCl2 resulted significant 10-fold increase Evans blue extravasation while sham or NaCl had no effect. Pretreatment with either MK-801 U-74006F significantly reduced FeCl2-induced capillary permeability by 43 63%, respectively (p < 0.05). Combined treatment 65% reduction vascular leakage that was not greater than pretreatment drug alone. These results show both excitatory can dama...
