摘要: Purpose To compare vision-related quality of life in implantable Collamer lens (ICL) recipients and successful contact (CL) wearers not seeking refractive surgery. Design A comparative cross-sectional study consecutive cases. Participants Forty-one cases bilateral ICL implantation Moorfields Eye Hospital, London, a control group 41 CL with similar starting level myopia attending consecutively at 1 2 community optometric practices the London area. Intervention Quality Life Impact Refractive Correction questionnaire administration semistructured interview. Main Outcome Measure score. Results scores were significantly higher ( P = 0.295), preoperative (ICL recipients) or uncorrected (CL wearers) error (mean spherical equivalent±SD, 11.0±2.7 vs. 11.3±3.5) wearers, respectively. Postoperative visual acuities (0.04 [20/20]±0.18) CL-corrected patients (0.01 [20/20]±0.14) measured better eye each also 0.53). Conclusions Implantable may offer significant quality-of-life advantages over wear for high myopia.
