摘要: In this work, the effect of base oil oxidation on scuffing was investigated. It found that under mixed lubrication conditions there is a direct relationship between level and onset scuffing, i.e., greater lower likelihood scuffing. An oxidised forms, among other products, carboxylic acids, which reduce failure in comparison with parent oil. This confirmed by addition acid directly to operating same conditions. The removal acids from via column chromatography resulted performance equivalent
