摘要: The aim of our study was to assess cognition in newly diagnosed and untreated patients with epilepsy order determine the prevalence determinants cognitive deficits at this early stage disease. A total 247 underwent a brief test battery focusing on attention executive functions (EpiTrack®) memory (short form VLMT). In addition, assessment included ratings self-perceived memory. Impairments were seen 49.4 % 47.8 %. Unimpaired performance both domains observed 27.9 cases. Self-perceived only reported by 28.7 patients, 25.1 complained impairments. Lower education symptomatic, i.e., lesional, cause associated worse functions, whereas related generalized tonic–clonic seizures. Results indicate high an epilepsy, which calls for consideration daily clinical care. Patients appear underreport deficits. Thus, routine application standardized neuropsychological screening before initiation pharmacological treatment would be appreciated provide baseline evaluate subsequent success, eventually initiate countermeasures, monitor course
