摘要: Abstract Background Serious games (SGs) are a type of simulation technology that may provide nursing students with the opportunity to practice their clinical reasoning and decision-making skills in safe authentic environment. Despite growing number SGs developed for healthcare professionals, few video based or address domain home health care. Aims This paper aims describe design, development, usability evaluation SG teaching who care patients chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) settings. Methods A prototype was developed. unified framework called TURF (Task, User, Representation, Function) theory were employed ensure user-centered design. The educational content on model, Bloom’s taxonomy, Bachelor Nursing curriculum. purposeful sample six participants evaluated laboratory. Cognitive walkthrough evaluations, questionnaire, individual interviews used evaluation. data analyzed using qualitative deductive analysis elements related heuristics. Results perceived as being realistic, clinically relevant, at an adequate level complexity intended users. Usability issues regarding functionality user–computer interface design identified. However, easy learn, suggested could serve supplement traditional training laboratory Conclusions Using scenarios COPD patient registered nurse actors contributed increased realism. different theoretical approaches considered advantage process. useful, usable, satisfying. achievement desired minimization emphasize importance conducting during development
