Re-Examining the Validity of Different Survey Modes for Measuring Public Opinion in the U.S.: Findings From a 2010 Multi-Mode Comparison

摘要: In this paper, we present data from a three-mode study carried out in 2010. National surveys were fielded at the same time over Internet (using an opt-in panel), by telephone with live interviews national RDD sample of landlines and cell phones), mail residential addresses). Each survey utilized nearly identical questionnaire soliciting information across range political social indicators, many which can be validated government data. Comparing findings modes to each other benchmarks, demonstrate that carefully executed panel produces estimates are as accurate two differ little their indicators correlates.
