摘要: We correct, update, and elaborate Curtin, Presser, Singer's (2000) report that the University of Michigan's Survey Con- sumer Attitudes (SCA) experienced only a small response rate decline between 1979 1996, contrary to widespread perception plunging rates. Our aims are (1) correct errors in SCA data affected result, (2) examine trend rates after when caller identification technology b ecame widespread, (3) describe roles played by various sources nonresponse over time. The results show from 1996 was larger than described Singer (2000); drop significantly steeper 2003 1996; trends differed substantially for refusals noncontacts.
