摘要: A contraceptive vaccine made of porcine zonae pellucidae (PZP) was tested in three Przewalski's mares and five banteng cows. The antigen consisted the complete family glycoproteins zona pellucida, including sperm receptor ZP3. All were inoculated with 2 or 3 i.m. injections approximately 65 μg given over a 6 week period. Two other received inoculations only 35 on same schedule. cows pregnant at time inoculation. No new pregnancies, as result postinoculation breedings, occurred among either 36 months after for 24 inoculations. One pregnancy resulted two receiving antigen. Differences fertility between treated control preinoculation reproductive performance significant (P < 0.05). Urinary ovarian steroid metabolites behavioral observations indicated follicular development ovulations occurring during year following PZP immunization produced progressively elevated anti-PZP antibodies both species, which provided protection. appears to be an effective form contraception species. © 1995 Wiley-Liss, Inc.
