摘要: Abstract Biological membranes are fascinating. Santiago Ramon y Cajal, who received the Nobel prize in 1906 together with Camillo Golgi for their work on nervous system, wrote “[…]in study of this membrane[…] I felt more profoundly than any other subject shuddering sensation unfathomable mystery life” † . The visualization and conceptualization these biological objects have shaped many aspects modern biology, drawing inspiration from experiments, computer simulations, imagination scientists artists. aim review is to provide a fresh look current ideas membrane organization dynamics by discussing selected examples across fields.
