摘要: Abstract Objective The impact of sociodemographic aspects and comorbidities on the inpatient hospital care costs traffic victims are not clear. main goal this study is to provide insights into characteristics clinical conditions (including comorbidities) that result in higher costs. Participants For period 2009–2011, people admitted a as road crash (N = 64,304) were identified national Minimal Hospital Dataset, after which they linked their respective claims data from sickness funds. Methods A generalized linear model was used analyse controlling for roadway user categories, demographics (gender, age, individual socioeconomic status (SES)), factors (the nature, location, severity injury, comorbidities). Results median cost € 2801 (IQR 1510–€ 7175, 2015 Euros). There no significant difference between gender. Low SES inpatients incurred 16% (95% CI: 14%–18%) than high SES. presence associated with an increased cost, however varying magnitude. example suffering dementia incur significantly those who (49% higher, 95% 44%–53%), whereas diabetes smaller increase compared non-diabetics (13%, 10%–16%).
