摘要: Introduction: Streptococcus agalactiae (GBS) is the most common agent in early neonatal sepsis. Strategies incorporating universal screening for maternal colonization show lowest rates of perinatal infection. A significant increase resistance to erythromycin and clindamycin by GBS has been reported around world. There are no published data regarding prevalence antimicrobial southern regions Chile. Surveillance essential define drugs choice alternatives, an institution that applies prevention protocols, as Clinica Alemana Temuco (CAT) does. Objectives: determine carriage vaginal-anal areas at end pregnancy, CAT, Araucania Region, To susceptibility strains isolated. Results: 1,181 pregnant women were included; 167 positive (14.4% colonization). Sixteen resistant (9.5%); 15 these also resistant. Twenty-three (13.7%). Conclusions: The rate was lower than previously other Due high it necessary widen study antimicrobials have alternatives allergy penicillin (primarily cefazolin vancomycin).
