摘要: Breastfeeding and human milk are the normative standards for feeding nutrition of both term pre-term infants. Fresh mother’s own is recognized as optimal choice all newborns, including preterm very low birth weight Evidence documents short long-term metabolic, immunologic neurodevelopmental advantages breastfeeding when compared to formula. Moreover, benefits on psychological relational aspects have be considered. Currently, supplementation usually performed meet specific nutritional requirements When unavailable or in supply, donor represents best alternative, although some elements inactivated by necessary pasteurization process. Aim this review briefly summarize main biological factors that contribute beneficial effects
