摘要: The choice of appropriate animal models for the initial in vivo testing potential anticonvulsant compounds is one most important steps successful search new antiepileptic drugs. purpose this paper to describe aspects take into account when performing maximal electroshock seizure (MES) test routine laboratory screening antiepileptics: conventional and threshold MES experimental procedures, factors affecting data (laboratory conditions, administration vehicles drug formulations, time after administration, stimulus duration site stimulation) assessment activity are discussed.
