摘要: Aims: Earlier comparisons of cognitive impairment among patients with bipolar disorder and schizophrenia have found a largely similar profile deficits, but results varied between studies. This prompted the current attempt at another such comparison. Methods: Executive functions, memory, IQ, attention–concentration perceptuomotor function were assessed in 48 operationally defined euthymia, compared 32 remission, 23 normal controls. Comparisons re-attempted after controlling for years schooling residual affective symptoms. Results: Uncontrolled indicated that, to controls, both significantly impaired on different tests executive function, IQ functions. Controlling symptoms, however, served remove most differences apart from some aspects memory disorder. Patients consistently performed worse than disorder, none significant. Conclusions: exhibit difficulties that are very terms their profile, although may more severe widespread impairments. The resemblance profiles has important implications etiology treatment disorders.
