Attention impairment in bipolar disorder: a systematic review

摘要: disorder (BD) has been associated with marked cognitive impairment, including euthymic periods. Attention is among the most compromised functions in BD. Changes related to learning, memory, and visuospatial abilities can be derived from these attention impairments. The objective of this article review scientific literature on performance BD patients tests. A systematic was performed controlled studies that assessed diagnosed aged between 18 65 years. databases included Medline, LILACS, Cochrane Library, Institute for Scientific Information Web Knowledge, Electronic Library Online (SciELO), search encompassed period 2008 2013. Only had a minimum sample 10 were included. total 110 articles fulfilled inclusion criteria. Compared healthy control subjects, bipolar showed poorer performance. other mental disorders, than unipolar depression but better schizophrenia. When different phases disease compared one another, similar or depressive state; moreover, manic worse patients. significantly impaired impairment milder schizophrenia greater depression. possibly more severe depressed episodes periods.Keywords: attention, cognition, neuropsychological tests, disorder.
