摘要: Abstract A histochemical procedure for β-glucuronidase has been used to make visible the cellular genotypes of liver tumors and surrounding normal clones in allophenic mice. The animals had lifelong genetic mosaicism cells with allele low activity (g/g genotype, C3H strain) high (G/G C57BL/6 or BALB/c strain). former strain is also hepatoma-susceptible; both latter are nonsusceptible. Of 12 “spontaneous” hepatomas examined, nine were entirely susceptible-strain hepatic one was nonsusceptible strain; pure-strain usually arose a environment containing each genotype. therefore behave largely autonomously respect gene control tumor susceptibility. However, two malignant formed, which suggests some measure intercellular transmission information. Alternatively, transformation might have occurred more concurrently. Mosaic either case imply that even hepatoma inbred strain, whether single-genotype animal an mouse, may comprise diverse transformed cells. Possibly many all be genetically complex entities.
