摘要: SUMMARY As denture cleansers should be able toreduce biofilm accumulation without changing theacrylic resin surface structure, this study evaluatedthe effect of on roughnessof acrylic and accumulation. It wasconducted a crossover three phases of4 days each 13 volunteers wore palatal appli-ances containing four specimens ofknown roughness which were extra-orallysubmitted once day to groups separatedtreatments: (i) negative control, (ii) enzymatic com-mercial solution (Ortoform) or (iii) 0AE5% sodiumhypochlorite (NaOCl).The appliances im-mersed eight times in 20% sucrose solutionto enhance formation. On morning thefifthdayofeachphase, theamountofbiofilmformedon the was estimated by amount ofprotein extracted with alkali rough-ness again measured. Newpalatal new wornby following phases, but thetreatments werechanged.Theroughnessoftheresinincreased after treatments (P 0AE05). The data suggest that not changed cleansers, butthe ability reduce dependedon product used.
