摘要: This study evaluated the abrasiveness of mechanical and combined methods denture hygiene, by analysis mass loss surface roughness. Acrylic resin specimens (Plexiglass) were brushed a tooth brushing machine (Mavtec) with soft brush (Tek) water (control) or four dentifrices (Sorriso, Colgate, Polident Corega) (Experimental groups) for 50 min, representing one year (mechanical method). After brushing, immersed in 0.5% sodium hypochlorite simulating daily cleaning 20 min (combined Distilled (23 oC) was employed as control. The (g) analyzed an analytical balance roughness (μm) rugosimeter. Data subjected to ANOVA Bonferroni test (α=0.05). dentifrice showed lowest values both (mechanical: -0.0072±0.0017, combined:-0.011±0.002) method resulted greater than mechanical, except Corega. For roughness, after method, registered (-0.007±0.016) (0.402±0.378); (-0.063±0.013) values; there no statistically significant difference between methods. It concluded that less abrasive association chemical increased but did not change specimens.
