The stimulation by methotrexate of human chorionic gonadotropin and placental alkaline phosphatase in cultured choriocarcinoma cells.

摘要: Treatment of the BeWo line choriocarcinoma cells with methotrexate in doses that inhibit DNA synthesis causes a tenfold increase human chorionic gonadotropin and threefold activity placental alkaline phosphatase. No concomitant lactic dehydrogenase occurs under these conditions. This effect can be blocked by simultaneous addition thymidine or folinic acid, neither which alone increases phosphatase cells.
