摘要: Background. Most studies evaluating the impact of kidney donation on donors' quality life (QOL) have limitations such as small cohort size, unmatched references, use nonstandardized and nonvalidated questionnaires, or low response rates. Methods. We performed a study QOL that was designed to avoid these limitations. All available living renal donors in our department last 18 years were included study. assessed with two validated, standardized questionnaires (Short Form-36, Giessen Subjective Complaints List [Giessener Beschwerdebogen]-24) compared gender- age-matched references. In addition, specific questions relating asked. Results. The rate (89.8%) is one highest reported for donors. had an equal better than healthy population. Donors' willingness donate again (93.4%) recommend living-donor transplantation (92.4%) high, irrespective complications. A number experienced financial drawbacks occupational disadvantages. Donors aged 31 40 found be at risk deterioration after organ donation. Donor recipient complications significant QOL. One third psychologic care preceding insufficient. Conclusions. Our findings support practice good means meet persisting shortage. Further effort must put into minimizing donor demands younger should further elucidated. addition medical follow-up, also offered lifelong counseling.
