摘要: Single descending brain neurones were recorded and stained intracellularly in the neck connectives of crickets while they walked upon a styrofoam ball under open-loop conditions. The animal's translational rotational velocities measured simultaneously, various stimuli used to investigate neuronal response characteristics. Stimulation with moving grating or an artificial calling song 5 kHz induced optomotor behaviour positive phonotaxis. An acoustic stimulus 20 elicited negative We report first clear evidence for behaviourally dependent gating sensory responses identified neurones. Most cells only responded visual animal was walking, indicating that these gated by walking activity animal. In contrast this, elicit phonotaxis, such as kHz, not gated. This indicates depends on behavioural context stimulus. From findings, we conclude significant information about properties processing higher-order can be gained from tests relevant paradigms. Important characteristics might otherwise missed, thus leading misinterpretations regarding their function.
