p75NTR and TrkC Neurotrophin Receptors Demonstrate a Different Immunoreactivity Profile in Comparison to TrkA and TrkB Receptors in Human Normal Pituitary Gland and Adenomas

摘要: Background/Aims: Recent knowledge indicates that neurotrophins play a significant role in neuroendocrine systems through their specific receptors TrkA, TrkB, TrkC and low-affinity p75NTR receptor. TrkA TrkB have been previously detected numerous endocrine cells human anterior pituitary adenomas. In the present study, localization of along with was investigated. Methods: Semi-serial paraffin-embedded sections 5 normal pituitaries 30 adenomas were immunostained using antibodies. Results: Expression receptor demonstrated intricate capillary reticulin network pericapillary tissue pituicytes posterior lobe. immunoreactivity absent from all pituitary, few scattered showed weak contrast to high percentage distributed throughout pars distalis intermedia which exhibited strong and/or intermediate immunoreactivity. Double immunohistochemistry more than 80% lactotropes 70% corticotropes lesser extent other cell types. Furthermore, majority adenomas, independently type, sex age, TrkA- TrkB-positive detected. Interestingly, expression appeared be increased some compared pituitary. Endothelial perivascular connective always TrkB-immunostained. Conclusion: The above findings support potential neurotrophins, different receptors, functions.
