摘要: BACKGROUND The interplay between the continuity or quality of sleep and diurnal variation in blood pressure has not been directly examined before. We influence a mild, non-hypotensive sedative on nocturnal dipping. DESIGN This was randomized, single-blind study. SETTING study took place an out-patient clinic academic hospital. INTERVENTION Zolpidem 10 mg placebo given randomly for first second night, ambulatory monitoring instigated 48 h. PATIENTS population under comprised 96 male patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus hypertension (mean age 54 +/- 6 years, mean 158/94 9/6 mmHg). MAIN OUTCOME MEASURE Nocturnal dipping (nocturnal >/= 10% lower than daytime pressure) found 71% taking compared 27% those (P=0.001). RESULTS On placebo, non-dippers dippers had similar profiles cardiovascular risk parameters. In contrast, zolpidem significantly higher values most parameters dippers: systolic pressure, low-density lipoproteins, high-density serum creatinine, urinary albumin:creatinine ratio, insulin resistance. CONCLUSION use mild during may help to identify very high risk. These are blunted hypotension despite sedation.
