摘要: Experimental autoimmune uveoretinitis (EAU) has been extensively studied as a model for human posterior uveitis, however, few ultrastructural studies of EAU in the rat have reported. In present report we document systematic time-course study segment changes Lewis rat. The disease varied somewhat severity animals sacrificed at identical times after immunisation. prodromal stage disease, usually around day 14, early pathological included mild peripapillary vasculitis and low grade mononuclear neutrophilic infiltration subretinal space with phagocytosis rod outer segments. features severe or active diseases were most evident on 21 mixed cellular infiltrate vitreous, serohaemorrhagic exudate, focal retinal detachment necrosis. Outer destruction was often adjacent areas vasculitis. Focal monocytic subpigment epithelial microgranulomas, reminiscent Dalen-Fuch's nodules humans, also identified. By 28 49 inflammation had subsided large segments retina completely destroyed. pigment epithelium (RPE) showed signs activation vicinity retinochoroidal infiltrates including multilayering, proliferation increased phagocytosis. Finally, neovascularisation RPE by non-fenestrated capillaries derived from vasculature late stages disease.
