摘要: Breast cancer (BC) remains the with highest mortality among women in United States. Entry of BC cells (BCCs) bone marrow (BM) leads to poor prognosis. This review discusses studies showing interactions between BCCs and BM stroma, consequently providing advantages survival within BM. Myc transcription factor is investigated as a link transforming properties peptides derived from preprotachykinin-I gene (PPT-I) Neurokinin-1 (NK1) receptor. A co-culture method previously described model early integration BCC used study timeline changes PPT-I TGF-beta using northern analyses bioassay, respectively. The results show both genes stroma. Relevance these homeostasis discussed. has been shown expressions TGF-beta1 BCCs. We now role for expression NK1. chemokine SDF-1alpha induce each other through an autocrine mechanism. Since SDF-1alpha-PPT-I axis not studied, we speculate on this finding, based cell-homing property SDF-1alpha. could be oncogenic, it might involved NK1 while regulation PPT-I. findings are discussed context related reports.
