摘要: Although deaths due to cardiovascular diseases have declined significantly since the 1970s, they remain most common cause of morbidity and mortality in United States. A large number risk factors, such as smoking, obesity, sedentary lifestyle, are modifiable. Psychologists other behavioral scientists practitioners engaged not only understanding mechanistic links between behaviors health but also developing effective interventions for improving health. The purpose this special issue is highlight some more innovative psychological research promotion, disease prevention, management. Articles included focus on 2 primary areas. First, cutting-edge current state knowledge modifiable their impact include articles e-cigarette use a putative factor, factors involved adherence medications, role sleep health, approaches enhancing treatment recovery patients with diseases. Second, outstanding identifying mechanisms by which stress, depression, anxiety an overview science examining comorbidities that can accompany influence outcomes, discussion neurocognitive processes connect stress appraisal biological functioning processes, genetics clinical decision-making context weight loss treatments.
