摘要: Disturbances of terrestrial origin are important determinants in the growth, carbonate production and well- being coral reefs. In this study, growth (density, linear extension calcification rates) corallite (diameter density) variables were determined for selected species from four Kenyan protected reef lagoons, with one receiving a pulse sediment discharge. Variable responses observed, some showing higher rates while others exhibited low within impacted reef. Species characteristics also showed variable responses, though diameters found to be larger densities generally observed mangrove-fringed Coral bulk density was poorly correlated rate but highly (R values 0.84 0.98). The current study have implications applications health management by providing information on susceptibility different corals local stressors, together distribution composition data may useful formulation suitable scientific based strategies predicting performance under future climate change scenarios.   Key words: Calcification, corals, change, density, extension, sediments, disturbances.
