摘要: Purpose To investigate the effects of an antioxidant dietary supplement that includes Ginkgo biloba, on retinal and retrobulbar blood flow in patients with open-angle glaucoma (OAG). Methods Forty-five confirmed OAG were enroled a randomized, double blinded, placebo-controlled cross-over study. Baseline postadministration measurements intraocular pressure (IOP), ocular perfusion (OPP), flow, capillary non-invasively measured (ultrasound laser Doppler modalities, respectively) before one month after nutraceuticals placebo administration. Changes between active arms evaluated using paired t-tests, p < 0.05 considered statistically significant. Results Antioxidant supplementation produced significant increase peak systolic and/or end diastolic velocities all vessels compared to placebo. Vascular resistance was also reduced central nasal short posterior ciliary arteries following Additionally, increased superior inferior temporal mean ratio non-active retina capillaries placebo. Conclusion One-month oral administration antioxidants increases biomarkers within vascular beds OAG.
