CNS DEPRESSANT, SEDATIVE AND ANXIOLYTIC ACTIVITY OF ETHANOLIC EXTRACT OF FRUIT OF PIPER CHABA REVEALED AFTER NEUROPHARMACOLOGICAL SCREENING

摘要: Objective: Different ailments can be treated by multiple approaches. Since ancient civilization plant material have been used successfully for treating diseases. Plants contain active ingredients which are beneficial treatment of The purpose the study was to evaluate neuropharmacological effects ethanolic extract fruit Piper chaba. Methods: chaba’s diluted in DMSO and administered orally at 300mg/kg according weight mice 21 days. A number tests were then performed CNS activity. Results: results showed reduced cage crossing, head dips, decreased central peripheral square struggling time forced swim test spends light dark test. Conclusion: From our it is concluded that after acute dosing chaba possesses depressant, mild anxiolytic sedative effect.
