Immunohistochemical findings in epiretinal membrane after long-term silicone oil tamponade: case report.

摘要: PURPOSE To report pre- and post-operative macular optical coherence tomography (OCT) immunohistochemical findings in a case of long-lasting silicone oil tamponade followed by removal epimacular membrane peeling. METHODS A 69-year-old man with long-standing an epiretinal at the posterior pole his right eye (RE) underwent oil/BSS exchange Preoperatively, RE best-corrected visual acuity was 20/200 OCT examination revealed small increase foveal thickness (250 microm) appearance linear hyper-reflective signal vitreoretinal interface thicker (440 hyperreflective finding causing shadowing inferiorly to fovea. Histopathologic study specimen including performed. RESULTS Light microscopy extensive rounded empty spaces interpreted as bubbles preretinal membrane. Macrophages marker (CD68) positive staining cells were found surrounding within several observed intracellularly macrophage cytoplasm. Thirty days after surgery 20/60 showed evident decrease (220 disappearance any referable CONCLUSIONS The both droplets macrophagic embedded Postoperative demonstrated retinal recovery peeling, thus justifying unexpected despite very long term tamponade.
