摘要: Abstract Purpose: The goal of this study was to evaluate the opinion sports medicine fellowship directors and orthopaedic surgery department chairpersons on how many repetitions average resident needs become proficient in several common arthroscopic procedures. Type Study: A cross-sectional study. Methods: questionnaire mailed all a list maintained by American Academy Orthopaedic Surgeons Medical Association. Respondents were asked estimate number operations needed for trainee reach minimal proficiency (able perform procedure skin-to-skin with supervision) (capable performing without 5 procedures: diagnostic knee scope, partial medial meniscectomy, anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction, shoulder subacromial decompression. Results: total 164 230 (71%) people responded questionnaire. Department who did not arthroscopy consistently estimated two thirds that nearly half directors. Chairpersons had responses more similar than heads arthroscopy. Conclusions: These results indicate that, physicians involved education residents fellows, it may take substantial Physicians little or no themselves underestimate its difficulty.
