Cholesterol: A Gatekeeper of Male Fertility?

摘要: Cholesterol is essential for mammalian cell functions and integrity. It an important structural component maintaining the permeability fluidity of membrane. The balance between synthesis catabolism cholesterol should be tightly regulated to ensure normal cellular processes. Male reproductive function has been demonstrated dependent on homeostasis. Here we review data highlighting impacts homeostasis male fertility molecular mechanisms implicated through signaling pathways some nuclear receptors.
