Photon-drag experiment and the electromagnetic momentum in matter

摘要: The photon-drag experiment of Gibson et al. [Proc. R. Soc. London, Ser. A 370, 303 (1980)], operating in the millimeter region, is analyzed and compared with predictions following from electromagnetic energy-momentum tensors Minkowski, Abraham, Peierls, Einstein Laub. In agreement experimentalists, it found that Minkowski tensor explains observations a straightforward way. However, pointed out other alternatives explain also. present therefore, like most high-frequency experiments, unable to discriminate between tensors.
