摘要: Though observations on re-colonisation of post-fire sites in the Mediterranean Basin are plentiful, there still is an ongoing debate interrelation fire regimes and species traits related to adaptation. Most studies found restricted particular or claim present community attributes. Therefore they often lack information for evaluation evolutionary evidence historical contingency local regime other abiotic conditions, which may act as selective pressure plant regeneration strategies. Indeed, knowledge about success mechanisms their with ecological factors essential interpretation high spatio-temporal variability performance. Such would be necessary assess potential different cope land-use climate change—a crucial scientific challenge.
