摘要: Silymarin, a mixture of flavonolignans from medicinal plant Silybum marianum, is used in supportive treatment liver diseases different etiology due to its hepatoprotective activity, which considered involve antioxidative and the membrane stabilizing effects. The plays an important role regulation metabolism plasma lipoproteins, injury often reflected as secondary dyslipoproteinaemia, may lead development atherosclerosis, particularly when associated with hypercholesterolaemia. This review summarizes experimental evidence indicating that silymarin-induced protection functions be benefit regard lipid related lipoproteins. Moreover, some data suggest silymarin could have direct effect on cholesterol by inhibiting biosynthesis. It proposed deserves studied potential hypocholesterolaemic agent.
