摘要: We have studied the effects of proteoglycans (PGs) and glycosaminoglycans (GAGs) on growth morphology neurons in culture. PGs from glial cells or Engelbreth-Holm-Swarm tumor (EHS), pure bovine kidney heparan sulfate (HS), shark cartilage type C chondroitin (CSc) mucosa dermatan (DS) added to embryonic rat strongly enhanced total neurite after 48 h vitro. No trophic were seen when treated with a mixture glycanases used. PGs, CSc HS not only but induced appearance majority single long axon whereas, contrast, DS increased dendrite growth. GAGs bound cell surface rapidly internalized, feature that correlated well absence neurotrophicity previously immobilized culture substratum. Although mechanisms involved neurotrophic separate regulation neuronal polarity by elucidated, we found that, as opposed HS, was able enhance adhesion spreading maintain high level expression microtubule-associated protein 2 (MAP2), specific dendritic marker. This finding confirms extends our previous observations role
