摘要: The soil bacterium Agrobacterium rhizogenes generates the “hairy root” syndrome in infected plants and is characterized by neoplastic outgrowth of roots (Riker et al. 1930). molecular basis this phenomenon transfer integration a specific part root-inducing (Ri) plasmid A. rhizogenes, called “transfer DNA” (T-DNA) into genome plant cells (Chilton 1982; White Willmitzer 1982). initial events resemble those involved induction crown gall disease tumefaciens, its close relative (reviewed Zupan 2000). In latter case, T-DNA located on tumor-inducing (Ti) plasmid.
