摘要: Background: One of the probable etiologic risk factors oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) is Candidal infection, especially by Candida albicans , whose role has not defi nitely been confi rmed. Some have assigned a primary to whereas others consider it as transient inhabitant. The debate may be due lack an accurate and sensitive revealing technique. By identifying presence in deeper parts OSCC, verifi ed. present study was conducted detect OSCC fl uorescence staining Materials Methods: This descriptive experimental. Calcofl uor-white, which applied staining, specifi c substance for higher accuracy compared with other common methods. 100 specimens well-differentiated adequate amount tissue were retrieved from archive two serial sections obtained each one. fi rst section stained using popular histochemical (periodic acid-Schiff [PAS]) method then evaluated under light microscope . second sum counted technique fed into SPSS software analyzed McNamara test. P < 0.001 considered signifi cant. Results: OSCCs 74% measured sensitivity city techniques cantly different. These parameters than those (PAS) method, rmed test showing different results them ( 0.001). had method. Conclusion: researchers couldn’t nd considerable number fungi while our revealed more samples probably important factor OSCC. However, since identifi cation nearly evident two-third samples, cause suggested studied future investigations. Key Words: uorescence,
