摘要: Maternal serum screening, also known as the triple screen, is used during pregnancy to assess risk of carrying a fetus with specific chromosome abnormalities or open spina bifida. All women in British Columbia who screen positive are eligible for genetic counseling and offered amniocentesis. The purpose this study determine what differences (if any) exist patients' understanding and/or anxiety when conducted person versus over telephone. Each patient participated was given choice having telephone, after randomized design failed elicit any participants. Using written postcounseling questionnaire, each assessed her information presented session, regarding risk. In small pilot study, no large were detected by telephone person.
