摘要: The interest in low-threshold vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers (VCSEL's) is increased by the demonstration of small size, low loss optical mode due to oxide-confinement Fabry-Perot microcavity laser. Intense recent work this area has resulted numerous record breaking demonstrations current, high wall-plug efficiency, and speed. In paper, we discuss impact dielectric cavity design enhance control mode. We argue that contrast mirrors can become an important approach, especially for apertures limited diffraction loss. Experimental results are compared different types mirror aperture designs.
